Patent or Trademark Licensing

A license is a contract granting limited rights in a property, usually for a fee, without conveying an ownership interest. Licenses can be exclusive, non-exclusive or sole, and can be structured in a wide variety of ways. For instance, some technology licenses include commercialization and/or sales requirements. On the other hand, trademarks licenses often include restrictions on the quality and nature of the underlying goods or services, the manner in which the mark can be displayed, and can also include geographic restrictions among a wide variety of others.
